Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend....continued

In my last post about Tracy and Jennie of Diamond & Pearl Affairs(http://www.facebook.com/diamondandpearlaffairs), I commented on just how much laughter there was at our shoot. Well...the laughter continues.

We found a beautiful old church/meeting house in Newburyport and the light was hitting the door perfectly. It seemed appropriate, seeing as these two are fabulous wedding planners, that we would take pictures in front of a church.

I was lucky to get this one!

Our next stop was the boardwalk, the water was glistening and these two looked beautiful sitting in the afternoon sun. I love how the Merrimack created a backdrop like a painting. Jennie's apprehension about water increased, as I decided to stand up on the bench and nearly fell over. At least I got her to smile! Hmm...what is it about me falling that is so funny?(Marianne had the same reaction http://kristinesoares.blogspot.com/2011/10/marianne.html)

I had a blast working with these ladies. They are laid back, passionate about what they do and overall just a really great team. Look them up for your next event, you will be happy you did. Thank you Tracy and Jennie, for making my job so easy!

Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend....

I present to you....Tracy and Jennie of Diamond & Pearl Affairs!

Recently, I was asked by Tracy Novak Dapp(a longtime family friend) to take some headshots of her and her business partner Jennie Dee for their up & coming event planning business, Diamond & Pearl Affairs(http://www.facebook.com/diamondandpearlaffairs). Since Tracy helped me coordinate my wedding reception, I of course wanted to be there for her.

They looked gorgeous as they walked up to me at Market Square in Newburyport, Ma. They both had their makeup done professionally. Tracy's was done by Marianne Brown(previous post http://kristinesoares.blogspot.com/2011/10/marianne.html) and Jennie's by Candice Iannaco(www.promakeupnow.com). And they were dressed to the nines.

We started off walking around looking for inspiration and I came across the quintessential Newburyport landmarks...brick buildings. But how do you take portraits, without making them look like mugshots?  By making people laugh!

Jennie's laugh was infectious

And Tracy just got the giggles

What a duo!

We tried to get serious, but I knew that was not going to happen. These two are clearly a lot of fun and that's what made it so easy to photograph them. I never like stiff poses anyways, who does that in "real" life?

Here's the beautiful Jennie...

And the stunning Tracy.

We had to throw in the cheesy librarian pose

We continued to walk around Newburyport and we came across this mural in an alleyway, that made for a beautiful backdrop. I told Jennie to be careful of where to stand, or else the fisherman in the mural was going to look as though he was catching her. I think that's why I got this shot.

Then it was onto a tutorial of so called, "sexy poses". Watch out Tyra, you're not the only one who can teach the "Smize"!

I'll leave you with this shot, part II of blog to follow shortly.
