Who am I?

Trying to sum up who you are as a person(in one little blog), really isn't the easiest thing to do. I tend to babble, even in my writing, so bear with me if you can. First and foremost, I am a wife and a mother. Those two things are the most important roles I have taken on in my life. That's what I have always dreamed of becoming and I take it very seriously. My family (which extends to dear friends) are my heart.

The past few years have brought me many laughs, many tears and a whole lot of soul searching. I am blessed to have a husband who not only provides me the opportunity to raise our child full time, but he's a regular renaissance man. He's a farmer (in his spare time), builds furniture and can cook. Our son, our one and only (for now), is my pride and joy. He has a zest for learning, that inspires me to learn more about the world around us, right along with him.

I have had a love of cooking since I was little, ever since I made my first scrambled eggs. That love turned into an obsession with food magazines, cookbook collecting and every food show/competition out there. I am by no means a professional, but with a little help from recipes and my own gut feeling, there are rarely unhappy campers at my dinner table. I also have a passion for photography, something that has been a big part of my life for awhile now. But it wasn't until recently, that I realized I should try and combine these two things. You may see food, you may see portraits. Depends on the mood!

We try and stay healthy....we are not perfect. We love butter, sweets and the occasional really good hamburger. We eat as local and seasonal as we can, when weather permits the majority of our groceries comes from our own backyard. I try to cook vegetarian 5 days a week. Things don't always go as planned in the kitchen, you may get a glimpse of that too. My main goal is to never stop trying and to push my comfort zone. So, this is our journey. Hope you enjoy!
